Richard maintains his professional development by regularly attending workshops, conferences and seminars. He prides himself on his experience and solid practical background. Richard has more than 25 years experience in the arboricultural and landscape management industries in the public and private sectors in the United Kingdom and the United States. He worked as a Tree officer for unitary local authority over six years.

Being familiar with local government procedures and practices, Richard has extensive experience of assessing publicly and privately owned trees while making appropriate, reasoned and reliable management recommendations. He is particularly experienced in the field of trees and development and is adept at undertaking surveys in accordance with the guiding principles of BS5837 (2012) Trees in Relation to Design, Demolition and Construction-Recommendations.

RJ Tree Services Ltd also specialise in providing local planning authorities with objective advice in relation to tree preservation order (TPO) applications and appeals, works to trees in conservation area notifications and giving advice on whether trees are suitable for preservation.
